Exchange of fire on Indo-Pak border: 15 dead

At least 15 people have been killed in the indiscriminate shelling by the Indo-Pak army on the Jammu and Kashmir border. The dead included 8 Pakistani soldiers and 7 Indian soldiers. More than two dozen people, including soldiers on both sides, were injured in the cross border fire, Indian media NDTV reported.

The casualties occurred in multiple areas of the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the Uri sector from Gurez in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday (November 13).

One civilian was killed and three others were injured in Indian shelling on the Line of Control (LoC), the Pakistani military said.

According to the Hindustan Times, at least four members of the security forces were shot dead by Pakistani troops on Friday in violation of multiple ceasefire agreements. Among the dead was a sub-inspector of the Indian Border Security Force (BSF).

At least 8 Pakistani soldiers have been killed in retaliatory fire from India, Indian military sources told ANI. Among the dead were two to three commanders of the Pakistan Army's Special Service Group (SSG).

The source further said that 10-15 more Pakistani soldiers were injured in the shelling by the Indian troops. Several army bunkers and launch pads have been destroyed.

A statement from the Pakistan Army's Public Relations Department said a Pakistani civilian was killed and three others, including two women, were injured in the shelling.
