Aam Aadmi Party Chief Arvind Kejriwal has resigned as Delhi Chief Minister. On Tuesday (September 17) afternoon, he submitted his resignation from the post of chief minister.

This information is learned in a report of Indian media NDTV.

According to reports, he resigned in a dramatic fashion four days after being released on bail after being arrested by the ED in a Delhi excise case.

Kejriwal submitted his resignation after meeting Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena on Tuesday afternoon. He was accompanied by his successor Atishi and former deputy Manish Sisodia.

Earlier, the Aam Aadmi Party said that Arvind Kejriwal announced the name of Atishi Marlena as the new Chief Minister after the assembly meeting. She will serve in this position until the next election. Assembly elections are scheduled to be held in February next year. However, Kejriwal has called for early elections.

Arvind Kejriwal announced his resignation two days after being released on bail last Sunday who has strongly denied allegations of corruption and money-laundering in the liquor policy case and accused the BJP of framing him. He declared that he would not rule the national capital until he got "justice from the people's court".
