Tulip Siddique, a minister for the ruling Labour Party in the UK, has resigned.

This information was confirmed in a report by the British media The Guardian on Tuesday (January 14).

The Guardian report said that Tulip Siddique resigned from the post of minister after repeated questions were raised about her financial relationship with Tulip's aunt, ousted Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Tulip Siddique is the daughter of Sheikh Rehana, the sister of ousted Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. She was serving as the British government's anti-corruption minister. She was recently accused of corruption after the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government.

Tulip is accused of embezzling about 5 billion dollars allocated for infrastructure development in Bangladesh and receiving a flat in London as a gift.

Meanwhile, Tulip Siddique wrote on her personal X handle, "An impartial investigation has confirmed that I have not committed any irregularities as a minister. There is no evidence that I have acted unethically. Nevertheless, in order not to embarrass the government, I have resigned from the post of city minister." My full letter to the Prime Minister is given here.
