A prayer has been placed to file a case against BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia in a Dhaka court for her alleged involvement in the history's barbaric grenade attack on an Awami League rally on August 21, 2004.
AB Siddiqui, president of Jannetri Parishad, filed the case in the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Debabrata Biswas on Thursday (September 3) morning.
Khaleda Zia has been made the sole accused in the case. State counsel Azad Rahman told Barta24.com about the case.
Azad said the petition was filed citing Khaleda Zia as the main instigator of the August 21 grenade attack. The hearing on the application will be held at 11 am.
The petition alleged that Major Zia came to power by assassinating Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman from behind. Khaleda Zia similarly had wanted to consolidate power by assassinating Sheikh Hasina.
