The National Coronation Committee on Corona said it will be difficult to open universities and colleges if students do not get vaccinated. The committee opined that the possibility of vaccinating students above the age of 18 needs to be examined.

This information has been given in a press release sent by the committee on Sunday (November 22) night. The meeting was presided over by committee President Prof. Mohammad Shahidullah.

At the 22nd meeting of the National Advisory Committee, a number of recommendations have been made. The government has already signed a tripartite agreement between India's Serum Institute and Beximco Pharmaceuticals to buy 3 crore doses of vaccine from Oxford and AstraZeneca, the press release said.

The government has also allocated money for this. The National Advisory Committee further said that preparations are underway to distribute, maintain and deliver the vaccine in different parts of the country. This process needs to be completed quickly.

At the same time, the committee said it would be difficult to open universities and colleges if students do not get the vaccine, adding that the possibility of vaccinating students above the age of 18 needs to be examined.

It may be mentioned here that due to Corona pandemic the ongoing closure of all educational institutions in the country have been extended till December 19.
