Government has decided to admit the students in public and private schools through lottery in primary and secondary levels, said Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni.
The minister disclosed the information at a virtual news conference on wednesday (November 25) about admission at the secondary level.
She said that it is risky for students to take their admission tests at school during the period of the corona. So the government decided to take the lottery admission test.
The area-based quota has also been increased to 50 percent for the lottery admission test.At the press conference, Education Minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury, Secretary of the Department of Secondary and Higher Education, Md. Mahaboob Hossain, Secretary of the Technical and Madrasa division Md. Aminul Islam, Director General of Secondary and Higher Education, Professor Ghulam Farooq, Chairman of various Board of Education, was present.
The country has been on closure since March 17 due to the country's growing trend of corona. As per the latest announcement, the school is on leave till December 19.
Due to the infection of the corona, the examination of the primary education and ibteday education exam, the junior school certificate (JSC) and the Junior Admission Certificate (JDC) of the current year has also been cancelled. The last hsc exam this year has also been cancelled.#
