Government is going to buy 3 crore doses of Oxford-Astrazeneca made Corna Vaccine which will be given to people free of cost, said Cabinet Secretary Khondoker Anwarul Islam.
The Cabinet Secretary informed the government decision in a briefing after the Cabinet meeting on Monday (November 30).
The meeting was held at the official residence of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The Prime Minister has approved the proposal to buy 3 crore doses of the Covid-19 Vaccine invented by Oxford -Astrazeneca and produced by the Serum Institute in India on October 14, he said.
On November 5, the Ministry of Health signed a three-party memorandum of understanding between The Serum Institute and Beximco Pharmaceuticals. The government is buying the vaccine.
The first consignment of vaccines will be given to people free of cost.
According to WHO protocol, who will get it first will be right.Also, the government has been tightening the mask use this week, said Kh. Anwarul Islam. We said earlier, we'll go to a little more tough action from this week.
