Not more than 20 people can perform Tarabih and Waqt prayers in the mosque

The Ministry of Religious Affairs has issued a circular stating that not more than 20 musallis can attend the Tarabih and Waqt prayers in the mosque.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs issued the notification in this regard on Monday (April 12).

The Ministry has issued the circular as the coronavirus (Covid-19) transmission is on the rise across the country. It has been said that a maximum of 20 people can take part in the congregation of Waqt and Tarabih prayers. It will have to be observed in the mosque from April 14 until further orders.

The instructions said-

  1. A maximum of 20 musallis will participate in the five daily prayers in the mosque.
  2. A maximum of 20 musallis including Khatib, Imam, Hafez, Muazzin and Khadem will participate in Tarabi prayers.
  3. Musallis will participate in the Friday Juma prayers following social distance and hygiene rules. However, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has not specified any number for Friday Juma prayers.

Due to the deteriorating coronavirus situation in the country, a notification was issued by the Cabinet Division on Monday (April 12) imposing restrictions from 8 am on April 14 to midnight on April 21. According to the new notification, all offices, courts, shopping malls, shops and markets will be closed for 7 days from April 14. At the same time all kinds of transports will remain closed. You cannot go out of the house without urgent need. However, the garment factories can be kept in compliance with the hygiene rules.
