Police arrested 54 people from various spots of the capital on charges of drug dealing and peddling in separate drives during the last 24 hours.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) confirmed the matter to Barta24.com on Wednesday (June 9).
Police arrested them from 6:00 am on Tuesday to Wednesday morning with drugs as part of their regular drive.
A total of 22,977 pieces of yaba, 136 gram heroine, 2.75 kg hemp, 30 injections and 70 bottles phensidyle were seized from their possessions.
Forty one cases were filed with respective police stations in this regard under narcotic control act.
