Three people were killed and another one was injured as a passenger bus hit a private car on Dhaka-Chattogram highway's Suagazi area of Cumilla sadar upazila early Friday.
The deceased were identified as Fakhrul Alam Dulal, 52, hailed from Laxmipur district, Miraz Hossain, 18, son of Mobarak Hossain of Khilgaon of Dhaka and private car driver Belal Hossain, 35, son of Abdul Mazid of Sherpur's Nalitabari.
Confirming the matter Cumilla sadar South Model police station officer-in-charge Debasis Chowdhury and Moinamati highway police station officer-in-charge Anisur Rahman said a Dhaka bound passengers bus knocked the private car down while the private car was trying to take U-turn in front of Kanon Hotel around 3:00 am leaving two people of the private car dead on the spot and one succumbed to his injuries on way to hospital.
Police recovered the bodies and vehicles, they added.
