Vikram Kumar Doraiswamy, the Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka, said at the moment it was not possible to get the Covshield vaccine made by the Seram Institute of India in the Oxford-AstraZeneca formula. He said the Corona situation in India is still at a dangerous stage. So I can't say the exact time when the vaccine can be given to Bangladesh.

On Sunday (June 20), the Indian High Commissioner paid a courtesy call on Juba League leaders at the Awami League's central office on Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital. He expressed his uncertainty about getting the vaccine in response to the questions of the journalists there.

Vikram Doraiswamy said that if the production of vaccine increases, progress will be known in this regard. We are increasing Corona vaccine production. The Corona situation in India is still at a dangerous stage. So I can't say the exact time about giving the vaccine to Bangladesh.

The national Corona vaccination program started on February 7 in the country. The vaccination program was started in the hope that 3 crore vaccines would be available from the Serum institutes in India through the purchase process. But after the outbreak of Corona infection in India, the country stopped exporting vaccines. As a result, the issue of vaccination in Bangladesh is facing uncertainty. Meanwhile, the Directorate of Health said that the second dose could not be given to 100 percent of those who took the first dose due to shortage of Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine in stock in the country.

We are working to increase vaccine production, which will take a few more weeks," the Indian High Commissioner said. At that time it can be said exactly. However, talks are still going on with Bangladesh.

Regarding meeting with Juba League leaders and activists, he said, "We have discussed some bilateral issues." The aim was to enhance the relationship between the youth of Bangladesh and India. Reaching the doorsteps of the youth with the help of Juba League and increasing the connection between students, youth and businessmen of India and Bangladesh.

Juba League Chairman Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash, General Secretary Mainul Hossain Khan Nikhil, Youth Leader Mamunur Rashid, Mojibur Rahman Chowdhury (Nixon), Khaleq Shawkat Ali, Subrata Pal, Sheikh Fazle Naeem, Kazi Mazharul Islam and Saifur Rahman Sohag were present at the time.
