Mahtab Uddin Ahmed has decided to step down after a successful five-year tenure as Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Robi Axiata Limited.
Although his term in Robi is officially till October 31, 2021, he is going on leave and his decision not to be in charge will be considered effective immediately.
Robi's Chief Financial Officer (CFO), M Riaz Rashid will be the acting CEO of the company at this time.

As the first Bangladeshi CEO of Robi, Mahtab Uddin Ahmed has taken the operator to a new height of success. Taking Robi to the top position in 4-G service, completion of the largest Robi-Airtel merger in the company history of Bangladesh, listing of Robi through the largest IPO in the history of capital market, various landmark steps in digital advancement are some of his successes.
