The RT-PCR lab will be installed at Hazrat Shahzalal International Airport(HSIA) within the next three to four days, according to the Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment.
This information was given in a press release sent on Saturday (September 18) evening.
It was said that at 4 pm today, the Minister Imran Ahmed and Secretary of Expatriate Welfare visited the car parking yard of the HSIA to set up an RT-PCR lab for corona testing of foreign workers. The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Chairman Mofidur Rahman and Director General of the Bureau of Manpower, Employment and Training Shahidul Alam were present.
It was further said that during the inspection, the matter of setting up the lab was confirmed to the Minister by the Chairman. He told the minister that a diagnostic center selected for setting up the lab would set up a mobile lab at the designated place and would soon start corona testing.
After inspecting the site of the lab, the Minister for Expatriate Welfare inspected the Expatriate Welfare Desk set up at the airport and supervised the services provided for the expatriate workers and Mujib Corner.
