A total of seven people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8:00am Tuesday, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 27,785 and the death rate stands at 1.77 percent.
At least 469 new infections were recorded during the period, taking the total number of people infected to 15,66,296, added the release.
The current positivity rate is 2.20 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 15.45 percent.
A total of 21,308 samples were tested across the country in the 24 hours. Besides, at least 697 Covid-19 patients have recovered during the period.
The total number of recoveries now stands at 15,29,068 and the recovery rate at 97.62 percent.
Among the seven deceased, five were men and two were women. Of them, two were between 41-50, one between 51-60 and four were above 60 years old, added the release.
Mentionable, the first case of Covid-19 infection was detected in Bangladesh on last March 8, 2020 while the first death occurred on March 18.
