A fire broke out at a furniture godown in Satarkul area of North Badda in the capital Dhaka. Seven units of the fire service are working to control the fire.
The fire broke out around 10 pm on Saturday (October 23). Rafi Al Farooq, duty officer of the fire service, confirmed the matter.
He said a fire broke out at a furniture godown in the Satarkul GM Bari area in the capital's North Badda. Upon receiving the news of the fire, seven units of the fire service rushed to the spot and have been working to control the fire.
He added that the ground floor of the seven-storey building caught fire. Besides, the fire service fears that the fire will spread as there is a chemical factory in the next building. For this, the police have evacuated the residents of the surrounding buildings. However, no casualties have been reported so far.
