Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the Pyara Bridge over the Payara River in Patuakhali on Sunday. The inauguration of this bridge will facilitate uninterrupted travel in the southern part of the country. You don't have to cross any ferry from Barisal to Kuakata.

According to a letter signed by Ismat Mahmuda, Assistant Private Secretary to the Prime Minister, the Prime Minister will virtually inaugurate the Pyara Bridge over the Pyara River on the Barisal-Patuakhali Highway from Ganobhaban on Sunday at 10 am. Due to this, there is a lot of celebration in the area of Pyara Bridge.

Pyara Bridge Project officials said the bridge has been built over the Pyara River on the Dhaka-Barisal-Patuakhali-Kuakata highway in the Lebukhali area of Dumki upazila in Patuakhali. The design of this bridge is somewhat exceptional. The 4-lane bridge is built with extruded cable-stayed technology. The Shah Amanat Bridge over the Karnafuli River in Chittagong is also built with this technology. The bridge is 1,470 meters long and 19.76 meters wide and is connected on both sides by cable. The bridge is 18.30 meters high from the water level of the river. Connecting roads have been constructed across 7 km on both banks. A 130 meter deep pile has been laid on the river bed for this bridge. Only one pillar was used in the middle of the river. The normal flow of the river will be fine.

On March 19, 2013, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina laid the foundation stone of the Pyara Bridge. The Chinese contractor, LongJian Road and Bridge Construction, built the bridge with joint funding from the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development and the OPEC Fund for International Development.
