The court has deferred the announcement of the verdict in the murder case of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) student Abrar Fahad to December 8. Abrar's father said, "I was hoping that the verdict would come today." I have to come from Kushtia again and again, which is very difficult. This is what I want.

"I want exemplary punishment for all the accused," he said. This should not happen to any other son.

The accused in the charge sheet are Mehedi Hasan Russell, Anik Sarkar, Ifti Mosharraf Sakal, Mehedi Hasan Robin, Meftahul Islam Zion, Muntasir Alam Jemi, Khandaker Tabakhkharul Islam Tanvir, Mujahidur Rahman, Muhtasim Fouad, Moniruzzaman Monir. , Shamim Billah, Moaz Abu Huraira, ASM Nazmus Sadat, Istiaq Ahmed Munna, Amit Saha, Mizanur Rahman alias Mizan, Shamsul Arefin Rafat, Morshed Amatya Islam and SM Mahmud Setu.

Some leaders and activists of BUET Chhatra League called Abrar Fahad on the night of October 8, 2019 for criticizing Bangladesh's various agreements with India and giving him status on Facebook.

Abrar Fahad's body was recovered from the stairs of Sher-e-Bangla Hall of BUET that morning. Later, it was learned that the leaders and activists of BUET Chhatra League had beaten him in a closed room after calling him on suspicion of Shibir. Abrar's father Barkatullah filed a murder case against 19 people at Chawkbazar police station. Later on after probe police also included more six. Abrar was a second-year student at BUET's Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. He lived in room 1011 of Sher-e-Bangla Hall.
