BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia's adviser and former professor of chemistry department of Dhaka University Dr. Tazmeri Islam arrested in the sabotage case filed at Uttara West police station has been granted bail by the court of Metropolitan Magistrate Mahbub Ahmed.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mahbub Ahmed on Tuesday (January 18) granted her bail on a bond of Tk. 10,000 after a court hearing.
Relevant police court General Registration Officer (GRO) Liaquat Ali confirmed the news to Jago News.
Earlier, Advocate Masud Ahmed Talukder applied for bail of Tazmeri Islam. Bail was opposed by the state. After hearing both sides, the court granted bail. General Registration Branch Officer of the cour Liaquat Ali confirmed the information.
The case was filed at Uttara West Police Station on September 23, 2018 on the charge of sabotage. Professor Tazmeri and 133 leaders and activists of BNP and Jamaat were accused in the case. On November 26 of the same year, the High Court granted bail to Professor Tazmeri until the investigation report in the case was submitted.
