After being under the control of hackers for the last four days, the Bangladesh Krishi Bank's server was restored on Sunday, Shawkat Ali Khan, Managing Director(MD) of the bank, said.
The MD of the bank gave this information to the media on Sunday (June 25) night.
Shawkat Ali Khan claimed that some hackers had taken control of the bank's servers but could do no harm. All documents are intact. I have already taken full control.
He said that hacking has caused some problems in work across the country. Gradually everything is getting better. In this regard, the central bank has provided considerable assistance. When asked who hacked, he said, I have formed a committee to investigate the matter. When the committee's inquiry report comes in hand, it will be clear who did it and how.
Bangladesh Bank Executive Director and Acting Spokesperson Zakir Hossain Chowdhury said, "There was no hacking, I heard about Krishi Bank's server being down." But now it is normal. No problem.
It is reported that the server of Krishi Bank was not working since last Thursday morning. Branch managers across the country were informed in an internal message that there was a problem due to a sudden server down. It will be fixed soon. But the customers did not get the service after waiting all day as the server was not working.
A branch manager of Krishi Bank told the media, who did not want to be named, that the server had not been working since Thursday. We have been informed that it will be fixed soon. But Sunday was not completely fixed either. All work is running somehow with a server.
Earlier in 2021, Krishi Bank's website was hacked. On December 15 of that year, a group called 'Yildiz Turkish Cyber Army' hacked the website. Then the hackers sent a message warning to the bank. The message says, close site security vulnerabilities, otherwise malicious hackers can steal your personal information.
