The bail hearing of BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, who is in jail in the case of vandalism at the residence of the Chief Justice, is today.
The bail hearing will be held on Monday (November 20) at noon in Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Md. Asaduzzaman's court. Earlier, lawyer Syed Zainul Abedin Mejbah applied for his bail on November 2.
Earlier, on October 29, Mirza Fakhrul was brought to court after being arrested in this case. After that, the investigating officer of the case requested to keep him in jail in this case. On the other hand, the accused applied for bail. After the hearing of both sides, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shafi Uddin's court denied bail and ordered to send him to jail.
Before the commencement of BNP's grand rally on October 28, BNP activists broke tree branches and attacked the nameplates and gates with hand sticks in front of the Chief Justice's residence. They started throwing bricks inside. In this incident, a case was filed against Mirza Fakhrul and 59 BNP leaders at Ramna police station.
The notable accused in this case are BNP Standing Committee member Mirza Abbas, Ameer Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, Vice Chairman Barkatullah Bulu, Abdul Awal Mintu, Ahmed Khan, Advocate Zainul Abedin, Nitai Roy Chowdhury, Shamsuzzaman Dudu, Air Vice Marshal (retd) Altaf Hossain Chowdhury. , Barrister Shahjahan Omar, Dhaka Metropolitan South BNP convener Abdus Salam, VP Zainal Abedin, Metropolitan North BNP (acting) convener Farhad Halim Donor and Member Secretary Aminul Haque.
