A six-member Bangladeshi team went to Bhutan to attend the Bangladesh-Bhutan Ninth Commerce Secretary level meeting. On Monday (April 22) morning, they entered India after completing necessary immigration procedures at Burimari land port.

It is known that the Trade Secretary level meeting will be held on April 24 and 25 in Bhutan's capital, Thimphu. Tapan Kanti Ghosh, Senior Secretary, Ministry of Commerce, is leading a five-member delegation to attend the two-day meeting.

Other members of the team are - Ambassador of Bangladesh Shiv Nath Roy appointed to Bhutan, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce Noor Md. Mahbubul Haque, Director General of Ministry of International Relations ATM Rokibul Haque, Deputy Secretary of Commerce Ministry Sharif Raihan Kabir, National Board of Revenue (NBR) Customs International Trade and Contracts Second Secretary Omar Mobin.

The members of the delegation held a courtesy meeting with officials of Upazila Administration, Burimari Land Customs Station and Land Port Authority, Police Immigration. Patgram Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO), Customs Station Assistant Commissioner (AC) Nazmul Hasan, Land Port Authority Assistant Director (Traffic) Mehedi Hasan and Patgram Thana Police Inspector (Investigation) Jayant Kumar Saha were present among others.

It is said that they will return to Dhaka by plane from Kolkata on the morning of April 26.
