HSC exam will not be shifted back: Board of Inter-Education

All preparations have been completed to start the HSC and equivalent examinations from June 30 this year. In the meantime, a section of the examinees have given a memorandum to the Prime Minister to shift back the examination. The inter-education board has clarified its position regarding their demand.

On Wednesday (June 26), Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee President Professor Tapan Kumar Sarkar said, "There is no chance of shifting back the HSC examination." Their claim is baseless; there is no justification to accept it. Every year some students do this kind of movement.

He said that at this time, students need to focus on their studies without wasting time.

Earlier, on Tuesday (June 25), several candidates submitted this memorandum on behalf of the candidates at the Prime Minister's office in Tejgaon, the capital, shifting back of two months  the HSC and equivalent exams.

In the memorandum, they said, we are deeply concerned about some important issues related to the upcoming HSC examination. By this letter presenting the arguments in favor of their claim and seeking your kind consideration.

The Inter-Education Board has said that the HSC examination will be held at the scheduled time in all the boards except Sylhet.

Education Minister Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury Naufel said on Tuesday about the postponement of the HSC examination, there is no opportunity to postpone the HSC and equivalent examinations across the country citing flood and heavy rains. We have already postponed the HSC exam of Sylhet division. There is no chance of postponing the exam across the country because other areas will have a lot of rain after a few days. If we delay we will not be able to take the exam there.

It is to be noted that due to floods, the upcoming HSC and equivalent exams in Sylhet Division have been postponed till July 8. As a result, the HSC and equivalent examinations will start all over the country from June 30, but they are suspended in the districts of Sylhet division.
