Hasnat Abdullah, the coordinator of anti-discrimination student movement, said that the relief and money raised to help the flood victims are kept in a special account.
He made this statement through a post on social media Facebook on Saturday (September 14) around 11:30 pm.
In a Facebook post, Hasnat Abdullah wrote, "Through the press briefing on September 4, we were informed about the income and expenditure of the relief program at TSC. Apart from expenses, the rest of the money is reserved in Dhaka University's Janata Bank, Sonali Bank Branch, Islami Bank and Mobile Banking.
Hasnat said that a special account has been opened in the name of a teacher, a female student and a student of Dhaka University, where money can be withdrawn only through the joint signature of these three. So far no money has been withdrawn from that account.
He also wrote, "In order to ensure transparency, we are conducting an audit on the income and expenditure of the relief program and the audit report will be published in the next few days, Insha'Allah." We are always interested in receiving constructive criticism. If there is any particular misunderstanding, please specify it, so that our work can be more effective. Let the future Bangladesh be a model of transparency and accountability.
