Dhaka: A donation of Tk. 100 crore from the Chief Adviser's Relief and Welfare Fund has been made to the 'July Shaheed Smriti Foundation', formed to support the families of those killed in the anti-discrimination student movement and to rehabilitate and treat the injured.

Adviser on Posts, Telecommunication and Information Technology Md. Nahid Islam said this information in the chief guest's speech at the unveiling of the name plaque of Shaheed Golam Nafiz Bhavan at Banani Vidyaniketan School and College in the capital on Tuesday (September 17).

Financial assistance to the injured will start within the next week and later financial assistance will be provided as one-time and monthly, he said.

Adviser Md. Nahid said that those seriously injured in the anti-discrimination student movement in July will be sent abroad for better treatment. Besides, those who have lost their sight will be treated by bringing expert doctors from abroad, so that they can regain their sight as much as possible.

Adviser Nahid said that there is no party of the martyrs, we have to carry on the management of the country by keeping their memory, this upsurge is not of any particular party, opinion or group, this mass upsurge belongs to all the people of the country. When the history of the uprising is written, one must be careful not to interpret it from the perspective of any individual, party or group.
