The victimized students have highlighted their experiences of torture and protests against female students in various universities of the country during the July Revolution.

At a discussion titled 'Declaration of tortured female students on campus and responsibility for building a non-discriminatory learning environment' organized by the Education Rights Association at the RC Majumder Auditorium of Dhaka University (DU) on Saturday (October 26), they narrated the incidents of torture they suffered.

In the meeting, Jagannath University students Khadijatul Kubra, Kazi Farzana Mim, Eden College student Joyma Munmun and many others narrated stories of torture.

Islamic University student Phulpori Khatun said that the Chhatra League leader was torturing me so much that she wrote a suicide note from me and said, 'This time I will hang you.'

Eden College student Joyma Munmun said that for the last 15 years, Chhatra League has been occupying the halls. Students were forced to participate in political programs and were involved in immoral activities.

Synthia Mehrin Sakal, a fighter of the July Revolution at Dhaka University, said, "On July 15, the Chhatra League chased me and hit me on the head with a rod. I thought I might have died."

But my suffering is not over yet. I am suffering the consequences of the injuries every day. I am like a living martyr.

She also said that if the administration in a university is not held hostage by political parties, then it will be possible to build a safe campus for students.

Kazi Farzana Mim, a student of Jagannath University, said, "I was initially sexually harassed for participating in the July movement. But after filing a complaint, I was subjected to harassment. The influence of the ruling political party hindered the judicial process."

Dhaka University Professor Dr. Moninur Rashid, Jagannath University Professor Md. Shahnewaz Khan Chandan, BUET Professor Dr. Mahbubur Razzak, National Citizens Committee Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain and other individuals were present.
