Three riders were killed in a head-on collision between two motorcycles at the toll plaza area of the Jajira end of the Padma Bridge. Another injured person has been sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in a serious condition.
The incident took place around 9 pm on Sunday (November 3) near the Sheikh Russell Cantonment in the toll plaza area of the Jajira end of Shariatpur.
The deceased are Arman Dhali, son of Dadan Dhali, of Dhali Kandi village under Padma South Police Station, Khidir Madbar, son of Alim Madbar, and Nabil Faraji, son of Rubel Faraji of Faraji Kandi village.
According to police sources, two motorcycles collided head-on on the road next to the toll plaza from the Padma South Police Station area towards Sheikh Russell Cantonment Road. All four people on both motorcycles were seriously injured. Locals rescued the injured and took three people to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where they died. Sayem Madbar, son of Eskandar Ali Madbar of Faraji Kandi village, has been sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in a serious condition. Police have recovered the two motorcycles that were involved in the accident from the scene.
Confirming the matter, Padma Bridge South Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Akram Hossain said that three people were killed in a head-on collision between two motorcycles. Another seriously injured person has been sent to the hospital.
