Police Reform Commission chief Safar Raj Hossain said that work is underway on a proposal to change the method of force used in mob control.
On Monday (November 4), the Chief Adviser held a meeting with the heads of the commission formed to advance the state reform program at the Chief Adviser’s office in Tejgaon. In the meeting, commission chief Safar Raj Hossain informed the Chief Adviser about the progress of the work of the Police Reform Commission.
He said that the Police Reform Commission has already held 10 meetings. In addition, it has held four more meetings with stakeholders. A questionnaire has been prepared to seek public opinion; which has already been placed on the website.
In addition, proposals have been made to amend some laws and rules, which are being scrutinized. Appropriate proposals are being made to simplify some processes.
Work is underway on a proposal to change the method of force used in mob control, Safar Raj Hossain said, some sections of the Criminal Procedure Code 1898 are being examined and whether they will be changed or not.
