Police have recovered the bodies of four members, including two children and their parents, in Bhairab upazila of Kishoreganj.

Their bodies were recovered from a room on the seventh floor of the Shahjahan Mia building in the area adjacent to Rani Bazar Shahi Mosque in the municipal area of the upazila on Tuesday (November 26) afternoon.

The deceased are Gouranga Chandra Biswas' son Johnny Chandra Biswas (35), his wife Nipa Mallick (30), their son Dhrub Chandra Biswas (7) and daughter Katha Chandra Biswas (5).

According to local and police sources, Johnny Chandra Biswas worked at Mizan Mia's workshop in Baganbari of Bhairab town. He lived in a rented house with his wife and two children. On Monday, he went to his ancestral home in Anarbagh area of Raipura, Narsingdi, with his wife and two children. After returning from there at night, he entered their room and did not open the door. Later, an employee of his workshop came to check on him and found that the door of their room had not been opened since morning. Later, he broke the door of the room and found the bloody bodies of his two children and wife lying on the bed. Johnny Chandra Biswas was hanging from the ceiling fan of the house. Upon receiving this information, the Bhairab Police Station went to the spot and recovered the bodies of the husband and wife along with their two children.

Srishti Barman, a tenant next to the building, said, "They live in the flat next to us. Yesterday morning, everyone went to visit their father's house. They returned from there at night, and since then their room door has been locked. Later, around 3 pm, the workshop people came looking for Johnny Bhai and broke the door of the room and found the bodies of four people in the room."

In this regard, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bhairab Police Station, Md. Shahin Mia said that the bodies of a husband and wife, along with two children, of the same family were recovered from inside a room of a 7th-floor building in the city's Rani Bazar area. It is believed that the husband, Johnny Biswas, killed his two children and wife and committed suicide by hanging himself from a fan.

He also said that the incident will be investigated to find out the real cause.
