Dhaka: The interim government is working to institutionalize media freedom, said Shafiqul Alam, the press secretary to the chief adviser.
He made these comments during a discussion titled ‘New Bangladesh Media’ at the TIB’s Investigative Journalism Awards ceremony on Thursday (December 5) afternoon. During the event, speakers urged the domestic media to come forward to confront the lies of the Indian media.

The previous Awami League government had regulated social media by law, forcing the media to report whatever they wanted, he said, adding that independent journalism in the future depends on the goodwill of political parties.
