Interim government adviser Mahfuz Alam said that India must recognize the genocide committed by the autocratic Sheikh Hasina government in the July mass uprising.

He told reporters after the meeting of Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus with religious leaders at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital on Thursday (December 5) evening.

Mahfuz Alam said that one thing is very important, India must recognize the genocide committed by the autocratic Sheikh Hasina government in the July mass uprising. After recognizing this, all kinds of atrocities have taken place here, you have fact-checked, provided information, we will do our best.

He said that the role of Indian media in the relations between the two countries is questionable. Whenever we have had the opportunity to speak, we have said that the role of your media should be curtailed. This misinformation is a threat to the friendship between the two countries. We have said this. We hope they will agree.

Now it is the responsibility of the Bangladeshi media to highlight the truth, he said.

He said, the government wants to give a message to the forces in the world that are for and against Bangladesh through dialogue. That is, the people of Bangladesh have come to a point in terms of community; they have come together in one place. The government after the July uprising will work proactively to prevent any conspiracy at any cost. This government will not shelter or indulge in stubborn acts. Rather, I will move towards creating national unity.

He further said, we will increase the strength of our country's solidarity. No matter how many conspiracies there are outside, if we remain politically and communally united within this country. If we remain united in other areas, then no matter how much propaganda is spread outside, Bangladesh will move forward. This is what the chief adviser said.

Mahfuz Alam said, if there is oppression here against anyone from other communities, including Hindus we do not say that oppression does not happen, the all-out ball is untrue. But if it happens, you will publicize the government's measures against it. Mahfuz Alam also said that the government has taken measures in the Sunamganj incident. He requested the media to publicize it.

Mahfuz said, this country belongs to all of us. The chief adviser concluded by saying that harmony is needed. Fear should not be associated with that. Rather, citizens should be able to move around without fear, and everyone should interact naturally. I am calling on Hindus and Buddhists not to let it happen because we are the only ones who are getting in the way. Rather, unity and harmony should be maintained. The path that has been taken after the July uprising can be followed so that we can go far. People of all parties, views, paths and religions of Bangladesh can stand on a strong political platform and make Bangladesh stand on the world stage. For this, I have sought the support of religious leaders. They have given their unwavering support. We hope that the pace at which Bangladesh is moving and the national unity of Bangladesh will go far in the future.

Mahfuz Alam urged the media to present accurate information on communal issues. He said, "We are not giving press notes. Rather, wherever such incidents occur in Bangladesh, present the truth. We will take immediate action."

Regarding the government's thoughts on the proposal for an international religious harmony conference, Mahfuz Alam said, "It is a proposal. The advisory council will look into this matter. I am willing to take any initiative for the good of the country and the people. I will do that."

In response to a question, he said, "The law will see who is guilty. Religion, caste, and creed will not be considered there."

He said, "A bigger issue than Indian aggression is how much we have been able to increase our strength. We have solidarity within ourselves, how much preparation we have. We can hear about aggression. Many countries can carry out many types of aggression. We will increase our strength from our place, become strong. This is the vision."

Stating that the government will work in the international arena to prevent anti-national propaganda, Mahfuz Alam said, "We have discussed our vision and strategy in the advisory council. I hope we will see some fruitful steps soon. The press wing has been doing this work for a long time. We think the people of the country and the media are revolutionizing social media. We can showcase this to the whole world."
