Former officer-in-charge (OC) Shah Alam, who was arrested from the capital's Uttara Purba police station, has fled. The Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Uttara Purba police station on duty in this incident has been suspended immediately.

On Thursday (January 9) night, the duty officer of Uttara Purba police station, Sub-Inspector (SI) Abdul Karim, said that he heard that a police officer had fled from the police station. However, instructions have been given to talk to the OC in this regard.

When asked about this, an officer of the rank of Deputy Police Commissioner of DMP confirmed the escape of former OC Shah Alam and said that the escaped officer is an inspector, his name is Shah Alam. He is the former OC of Uttara Purba police station. A murder case was filed against him on September 2 in connection with the anti-discrimination student movement. He was arrested last night in that case.

The process of handing him over to the court was underway today (January 9) Thursday. At that time, he escaped by stealth.

Since the matter came to light, the process of re-arresting him is underway. The ASI in charge of this incident has been suspended due to negligence of duty. However, he could not immediately reveal the name of the suspended ASI.

It is learned that Shah Alam was accused in several cases, including murder, in the anti-discrimination student movement on August 5. He joined Uttara Purba Police Station on August 1.

He was arrested by Uttara Purba Police Station today (January 9) in a case related to the anti-discrimination student movement and was in the process of being handed over to the court at noon. In the meantime, he escaped by stealth.
