‘Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman wanted to build a beautiful country. The people of Bangladesh would get a happy life, this was his aim. But he was brutally killed on August 15, 1975. The people lost their spirit of liberation and possibilities of getting happy life. We are going ahead to fulfill the dream of Bangabandhu by building a developed and prosperous life’.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said this in a function on Sunday held at Tungipara arranged in connection of the 99th birth anniversary of Bangabandhu Shiekh Mujibur Rahman and national childrens day.

The UN did it in 1989 while Father of the Nation did it in 1974.  In 2011 we made law of National Children policy. To protect the rights, education, sports, physical exercise and cultural activities of the children so that they become worthy citizen of the country.’
