The Cyber Tribunal of Dhaka has issued warrant of arrest against the former Officer in Charge (OC) of Sonagazi police station (PS) Moaezzem Hossain now under suspension. The warrant was issued on charge of airing a video of late Madrasha student Nusrat Jahan Rafi about the objectionable questioning by the OC when the former went to Sonagazi PS under Feni district to file a complaint against the principal Sirajuddowla.
On Monday(May 27) Cyber Tribunal judge As Shams Jaglul Hossain after taking the investigation report in cognizance issued the arrest warrant.
Earlier Police Bureau of Investigation(PBI) submitted report in the court as the incident was proved to be true. After the death of Nusrat on April 11 the OC aired the video in various social media.
It may be mentioned here that Nusrat Jahan Rafi lodged a compliant against the principal Sirajuddowla for sexually harass her. During questioner the OC asked some objectionable questions to Rafi. The OC kept the session videoed in his cell phone. Next he released the video in social media after the death of Rafi.
On the other hand at the instructions of principal Sirajuddowla on last April 6 some of accomplices set fire on the body of Nusrat Rafi after calling her to the roof of the Madrasha building. Ninety percent of her body was burnt and after fighting a losing battle for five days she succumbed to her injuries at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital on April 10.
