The Bay of Bengal originated severe cyclonic storm Bulbul hit the coastal areas of Bangladesh at 9 pm of Saturday(Nov.9) night. After the intensity and strength of the storm started weakening and it advanced towards the coast. The Metrologists in the capital think that due to existence of the Sundarbans the cyclonic storm has become weak.
On Saturday (Nov. 9) night at 2-30 am Metrologist Md. Abdul Mannan of Bangladesh Metrology department (BMD) gave this information that the severe cyclonic storm is getting weak.
The Metrologist said that we have been saved due to the presence of the Sundarbans. The storm became weak after battling with the thick mangrove the Sundarbnas and slowly made land fall in Bangladesh main land.
The Metrologist further informed that the ‘center’ of the storm is still at Satkhira coast. The severity of the storm with center speed of 64 Kph is increasing from 90 Kph to 110 Kph in stormy form. The sea near the center of the storm is very rough.
He further informed that Bulbul would likely cross Bangladesh around noon of Sunday(Nov.10). The whether might improve in the afternoon.
