The final up dated voter list will be published on coming on March 1, 2020. As a result the upcoming city polls will be held according to the existing voter list.
On Sunday (Dec.22) CEC KM Nurul Huda after announcing the city polls date informed this to the press men.
CEC said that the new voters will not be able to cast votes in the upcoming city polls.
According to EC sources, the updating of voter list had begun on last April 23 of 2019 going house to house. The registration of the citizens of 15 to 18 years of age (born or before January I of 2001-2004) were completed in last November.
The EC sources further said that the number of voters in the 12th JS election will be around 11 crores while it was 10 crores 42 lakhs in the 11th JS election.
