Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has accused the present government for undermining the rights of the people like the ‘Pakistani forces’.

The BNP secretary general made the allegation at a virtual discussion on Friday (June 25) night.

He said that those who are in power today have seized the power by force and are violating all the rights of the people like an invading Pakistani army. They are continuing to oppress the people today in order to establish a one-party system of government by destroying the spirit of the 1971 war of independence and destroying the hopes and aspirations of the people.

We want to say firmly that the BNP is the party formed with the people who believe in liberation war. The BNP has been struggling to establish the democracy that the people of this country wanted and fought for in the war of independence in 1971. We believe that the struggle of the people will be successful through united efforts and Khaleda Zia will be released and democracy will be liberated.

Referring to the distortion of the history of independence, Mirza Fakhrul said, "We see the government distorting the true history of independence in a very planned manner. They are bringing the history they have created to the nation today and to the next generation."

The aim of the program being organized by the BNP on the occasion of the golden jubilee of independence today is to bring the history of nature to the fore. It is not to dislike anyone, not to belittle anyone, but to give them the honors they deserve. In a real sense, those who contributed to the liberation war that day, led it and fought for it at the risk of their lives are all ignored today.

Calling on the BNP leaders and workers to unite to stop the propaganda against Zia, the secretary general said, "Today we have to present the true history in such a way to stop that campaign, stop that propaganda and present the true history to the new generation."

The discussion meeting was organized by the National Committee to Celebrate the Golden Jubilee of the BNP's Independence and bring back the remains of Birsreshtsha Ft. Lt. Shaheed Matiur Rahman.

BNP standing committee members Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Mirza Abbas, Abdul Moin Khan, Nazrul Islam Khan, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, Selima Rahman and Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku addressed the discussion.
