BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia was admitted to Evercare Hospital on Tuesday for medical check up.
Director of the hospital Dr Arif Mahmud confirmed the matter to media
Shamsuddin Didar, a member of the BNP chief's press wing, said Khaleda reached the hospital around 4:30pm.
Khaleda Zia was admitted to the hospital after a medical board--formed earlier to provide necessary treatment--conducted some tests this afternoon, he said.
She will now complete the rest of the medical examinations, said the BNP leader.
The BNP chairperson was taken to the hospital this afternoon as per advice of her doctors.
Evercare hospital director Arif Mahmud said the former prime minister is now under the medical board, headed by Dr Shahabuddin Talukdar.
A member of the medical board said the BNP chairperson has been suffering from fever for several days. She was admitted to Evercare Hospital due to fluctuations in her body temperature.
The board member also said some tests, including a CT scan, have been already done. She will have to stay in the hospital for a few days for kidney and liver tests.
On April 28, the BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia was admitted to Evercare Hospital after she tested positive for Covid-19 for the second time on April 24 this year. She first tested positive on April 11.
On July 19, Khaleda Zia later returned home from Evercare Hospital after almost two months.
