BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has been placed at intensive care unit (ICU) of Evercare Hospital in Dhaka after she underwent a minor surgery on Monday.
“Madam underwent a biopsy. She had conversations with her son Tariq Rahman and her brother Shamim Iskander after the surgery. Syeda Sharmila Rahman, her son Arafat Rahman's widow, also talked to her. At present she is undergoing treatment at ICU. But she is doing well,” Dr Jahid Hossain, Khaleda's personal physician.
He was addressing a press briefing at the BNP Chairperson's Gulshan office in the afternoon.
On October 12, Khaleda Zia was admitted to Evercare Hospital for treatment and medical tests as per her doctors' advice after she went to the hospital for check-up.
