BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, who is undergoing treatment, is not being provided proper treatment by the government, said BNP’s standing committee member Dr. Khondoker Mosharraf Hossain.
He made the remarks in front of the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque on Friday (November 26) after Juma prayer and Doa mahfil for Begum Khaleda Zia's recovery.
Dr. Khondoker Mosharraf Hossain said, “Khaleda Zia is fighting for her life. As far as we can hear from the doctors, her health condition is very bad. It is getting worse day by day. The doctors of the medical board said, ‘The treatment she needs is not available in Bangladesh. She needs to be taken abroad very soon.”
He said, "Today, this government is not arranging for the proper treatment of Begum Khaleda Zia. Now there is no point in talking about the law. Lawyers have already said that there is no legal impediment for Khaleda Zia to go abroad. We demand the immediate and unconditional release of Khaleda Zia and send her abroad.”
BNP standing committee members Mirza Abbas, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, Nazrul Islam Khan, Dhaka Metropolitan North convener Aman Ullah Aman, South convener Abdus Salam and others were present.
