A syndicate meeting was called at 10:00 am at vice-chancellor M Abdus Sobhan's house. Hearing the news some progressive minded teachers gathered in front of the house and demanded to cancel the meeting and stop the ad hoc recruitment.

Chhatra League man obstructed them over the issue and locked into a quarrel with the teachers. At one stage, jobseeker Akash has given threat to fire to the protesting teachers.

Rajshahi University proctor Professor Lutfor Rahman said he does not know about the incident. However, he claimed the campus situation remains normal.
