With an aim to bridge the gap between talent and opportunity for South Asian software engineers, Turing, an AI-powered, international platform that connects developers with high-quality, full-time remote jobs in the U.S, is now set to make headway in Bangladesh to revolutionize career prospects for the country’s developer talent.

Based in Palo Alto, California, Turing is a deep jobs platform using their Intelligent Talent Cloud to source, vet, match, and manage a worldwide pool of developers, connecting them to remote software jobs in the US with both established and entrepreneurial companies. Currently, Turing has over 1.5 million developers on their platform from 150 countries, thousands of whom have already been recruited by more than 300 top U.S firms including Johnson & Johnson, Dell, Disney, Coinbase, Plume, and Village MD for full-time remote jobs. Turing makes sure employees earn competitive salaries and are well-compensated so they stay motivated to go above and beyond.

Recently, Turing has also launched a free, global, career-centric community that is open to all and aims to equip developers with the tools necessary to achieve personal and professional breakthroughs, inspiring lifelong learning and development through a dedicated space to share their experiences, nurture and expand their skill sets, and help each other build their dream careers with or without Turing. In addition to coaching and mentoring, the community also regularly organizes social events to help guide them in advancing their careers.

Jonathan Siddharth, CEO and Co-founder of Turing, while expressing his views on the launch of Turing in Bangladesh, said, “Bangladesh has shown significant growth in the Software Development industry over the last few decades, producing world-class engineers with the potential to benefit both their local sector and the global tech industry.”

“While talent is global, opportunity is not. Turing levels the playing field for worldwide talent to find their dream career opportunities, regardless of where they live. There’s Silicon Valley caliber developers across the world and Turing’s on a mission to unleash their untapped potential,” he added.

Law Minister Anisul Haque said that the only way to take BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia now under treatment can be taken abroad to seek clemency to the President..

The Law Minister said this in a press conference at the Secretariat on Wednesday (October 4).

Anyone can apply to the President for remission of sentence, he said, but in this case she has to confess her guilt.

Anisul Haque said that according to the provisions of the executive order, the BNP chairperson has no opportunity to seek medical treatment abroad. He also commented that the issue of sending Khaleda Zia abroad for treatment is a matter of the court.

The law minister also urged not to play politics over sending Khaleda Zia abroad and said that a press conference was held by BNP on October 3. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir presented many false, baseless and misleading information in this press conference. I strongly protest and condemn it.

He said, Mirza Fakhrul said, "Law Minister once said that the government does not have the power to stay at home by suspending the sentence, only the court can do it." However, shortly after that, the national leader came home on the executive order of the government. This statement of Fakhrul Islam Sahib is completely false and baseless because I didn't say that. My speech is always recorded.

Application for amendment of National Identity Card (NID) can be made till the announcement of the schedule for the upcoming 12th National Assembly elections.

According to EC sources, such a decision was taken in the 24th meeting of the Commission.

Regarding the amendment, Director General of National Identity Registration Division AKM Humayun Kabir told Barta24 that NID has nothing to do with the new voter list. Therefore, before the 12th parliamentary elections, a new voter cannot be included. However, citizens can apply for NID correction till the schedule is announced.

Earlier, ahead of the 12th National Assembly elections, the commission had given an opportunity to eligible citizens to apply to become voters till September 14. At this time there was also an opportunity to apply for change of constituency. Now no one can become a new voter before the parliamentary elections. But NID will be available throughout the year. According to EC sources, around 30,000 citizens have applied to change their address.

Meanwhile, according to the latest information provided by the EC, the number of voters in the country is 11 crore 91 lakh 51 thousand 440 people. Among them there are 6 crore 4 lakh 45 thousand 724 men, 5 crore 87 lakh 4 thousand 879 women and 837 Hijra voters.
