The Foreign Affairs Adviser said, the role of the Indian media regarding Bangladesh is not helpful in establishing normal relations between the two countries. Our media should also play a role in this regard.

Stating that there are various obstacles at present, Towhid Hossain said, the previous government had created some concerns. If India had given priority to our concerns regarding this, this crisis would not have arisen.

The Foreign Affairs Adviser said, we are optimistic about having good relations with India. The relations should be taken forward by preserving the interests of the two countries. We want the water issue to be resolved. If there is a border killing or someone commits a crime, justice will be served. But killing is not desirable.

He said, "We have fallen far behind due to the lack of national consensus. We have to come out of the culture of opposing only for political reasons. We have to see what can protect our interests. We have to see our capabilities. We have to empower our people. We have to increase our capabilities." He also said, "Our people abroad have to get involved in local politics. In that case, our influence will increase, as India has."
