Miscreants stabbed three people including the manager of a restaurant in Kushtia town. The incident took place at the River View Food Corner located under Sheikh Russell Bridge adjacent to Thanapara embankment on Wednesday (February 21) night.
Those injured in the stabbing are - restaurant manager Tushar Ahmed (23), head cook Shimul Hossain (25) and assistant cook Shubo (22).
The injured have been admitted to Kushtia 250-bed General Hospital. Among them, the manager of the restaurant, Tushar’s condition was critical, said the doctor on duty.
Suvo, the restaurant's assistant cook who was injured in the stabbing, said, 'I was working in the restaurant's kitchen. At this time, four to five unknown youths tried to forcefully enter the kitchen. When I stopped them, they grumbled. At this time, if the owner's mobile number is requested, I express my unwillingness to give it. Then they started arguing with manager Tushar. At one point they started beating the manager. At one stage of the beating, a young man stabbed the manager. At that time, when Shimul and I tried to stop them, they also stabbed us and ran away.
Abdul Khalek, the owner of River View Food Corner, said, "I was not in the restaurant at the time of the incident. Later I came to know that three of my employees were stabbed by miscreants. As far as I know, no one has bad relations with them. However, I still cannot say anything about the reason for this attack on them.
Resident Medical Officer (RMO) of Kushtia 250-bed General Hospital Tapas Kumar Sarkar said, "Three people have been admitted to the hospital due to stabbing injuries. Two of them are out of danger, but the condition of one is critical.
Kushtia Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sheikh Md. Sohel Rana said that the police operation is continuing to catch those involved. They are reviewing the CCTV footage. He also said that preparations are underway regarding the filing of the case.
