Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has sought China's help in quickly resolving the Rohingya crisis.

She said, 'Bangladesh is now very worried about the Rohingya crisis due to the uncertainty of the solution. Because it has already been six years since the forcibly displaced Myanmar citizens came to Bangladesh.

She sought this assistance when she met Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China, at the Prime Minister's National Parliament Building office on Monday (June 24).

Press Secretary of the Prime Minister Naimul Islam Khan during the press briefing after the meeting quoted Sheikh Hasina as saying, "It (Rohingya crisis) is very disappointing and worrying for us.

The Prime Minister told the Chinese Minister, "This is a special message from me (the Prime Minister) to the President of China for an amicable solution to the Rohingya crisis." She (Prime Minister) also requested the Chinese Minister to do something on his own behalf and with added interest.'

Liu Jianchao said China is committed and working with Myanmar to find out how to improve the situation on the Rohingya issue.

Pointing out that the Rohingya issue is complex and it continues internally, the Chinese minister said, "Even the Myanmar government is not in a position to implement any plan (about this issue). Due to the conflict situation (there) the civil war situation has become a critical issue.'

He also said that China has understood that Bangladesh has been affected by the Rohingya crisis. His country greatly appreciates Bangladesh's humanitarian assistance to the Rohingya.
