There was no agreement with India rather some MoUs were signed with India, said the Foreign Minister Dr. Hassan Mahmud and added that the BNP leaders are misleading people by telling lies.

He said some MoUs were signed during the Prime Minister's visit to India, some MoUs were renewed. But no agreement was signed. BNP leaders keep saying that the agreement has been signed. BNP leaders are educated. I don't understand why educated people are talking like uneducated people.

He said these things while addressing as the Chief Guest at a seminar titled 'Awami League and Bangabandhu' organized by North District A. League on the occasion of A. League’s 'Platinum Jubilee' at Chattogram Press Club's Bangabandhu Hall on Saturday (June 29).

Dr. Hasan Mahmud said, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir used to teach in Dhaka College, Moin Khan is also educated. I don't understand why several other educated people are talking like uneducated people. I don't understand why they don't understand the difference between an agreement and a memorandum of understanding.

All the achievements of Bangladesh have been achieved by the hands of Awami League. The government has taken initiatives to increase connectivity for the sake of development and economic prosperity of the country. So spreading confusion will not be of any use, he said.

The Minister said, we want to increase connectivity. Dhaka-Kolkata train started to increase connectivity. Khulna- Kolkata train has already started. Dinajpur- Siliguri train started. All the preparations for starting the train through Akhaura have been completed. We have signed an agreement to import hydropower from Nepal over Indian soil. Talks are also going on with Bhutan. We also want to add Nepal and Bhutan to that connectivity. We want to do this for the sake of the development of the people of this region and for the sake of economic prosperity.
