The 4G network was shut down in the Dhaka University campus area on Sunday (July 14) midnight. Mobile internet service is not available in that area.

Meanwhile, the students protested in different halls after 10 pm on Sunday, citing that the agitators demanding reform of the quota system in government jobs were insulted. Later they protested in front of the Raju sculpture.

Students complain that they are not able to use the internet on mobile phones since midnight. Many people are not able to make direct calls on mobile phones.

A student named Farooq Ahmed said that the internet was slow for half an hour, but he has not getting internet service at all since 1 am.

According to operator sources, they have received instructions to shut down the 4-G network in Dhaka University area. They have been asked to keep the 4G network off till further instructions.

High speed 4G internet services are now provided on mobile phones in the country. But if you bring it down to 2-G, you can only talk, you can't use high-speed internet.
