Interim government’s Chief Adviser Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus said the main objective of his government is to improve the law and order situation. A lot of progress has already been achieved in this field.
On Monday (September 9), the ambassador of the Vatican appointed to Bangladesh, Kevin S. Randall said this when he went to meet the Chief Adviser.
The Chief Adviser said that the Interim government had implemented important reform programs in the first month after assuming office. Dr. Yunus sought the Vatican's support in implementing reform programs and providing humanitarian assistance to the Rohingya.
The Vatican ambassador said that an interfaith dialogue has been proposed between the delegation of the Interfaith Dialogue Department of the Vatican City and the Islamic scholars of Bangladesh.
He highlighted the need to increase humanitarian assistance to the more than 10 lakh Rohingya population living in various refugee camps in Cox's Bazar district of Bangladesh.
Chief Adviser's Office of SDG Affairs Chief Coordinator (Senior Secretary) Lamia Morshed and Director General of Ministry of Foreign Affairs Kazi Russel Parvez were present during the meeting.
