The Special Cell on Mass Uprising has published the first draft list of 858 martyrs and 11,551 injured in the mass uprising of the students in July-August.

This information was given in a notification signed by the team leader (Additional Secretary) of the Special Cell on Mass Uprising Khandaker Zahirul Islam on Saturday (December 21).

It was informed that the first draft list has been published with the aim of finalizing the list of martyrs and injured in the July-August student uprising. It can be seen on the website of the Special Cell on Mass Uprising (https://musc.portal.gov.bd).

The first draft lists will be open to the public until December 23, the notification also said. 

It is further said that the Health Services Division, the Health Directorate, the District Committees formed in 64 districts and the Special Cell on Mass Uprising are working to finalize the list of names of the martyred and injured.

The two draft lists published have been requested to verify, correct and finalize the names, addresses and other relevant information of the martyred and injured persons. In addition, if anyone has any opinion or suggestion regarding this list or has any information to add or subtract, they have been asked to inform the Special Cell on Mass Uprising by December 23 at the email address ([email protected]).

Commenting that earlier information was kept hidden, we are presenting the correct one, Finance Adviser to the interim government Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed said, there are various gaps in the information of the last 15 years. An attempt has been made to hide the information. We are trying to change and reform it.

He said, donor agencies ask us various questions, they want to explain - it was less before etc. We are explaining to them - earlier information was kept hidden, we are presenting the correct one.

Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed said this at a program organized on Saturday (December 21) at the CIRDAP auditorium in the capital under the chairmanship of Dr. Hossain Zillur Rahman, chairman of the publication festival of the 6th edition of the Banking Almanac and former adviser to the caretaker government.

The finance adviser to the interim government has commented that there are many faults or errors of the players (big participants) and regulators (regulatory authorities) behind the instability of the capital market. The finance adviser said, nothing is evaluated without correct information and data. Foreign investors have to face various questions about the data outages of the last 15 years. There are some unintentional mistakes behind the data outages on inflation and GDP, and policymakers also try to hide the data.

The family has decided to bury AF Hasan Arif, the adviser to the interim government's Ministry of Land, Civil Aviation and Tourism, at the Mirpur Intellectuals' Graveyard on Monday (December 23).

Hasan Arif's son Muaz Arif gave this information on Saturday (December 21) afternoon. He said that the body will be kept in the hospital's cold storage for now. His father (Hasan Arif) will be buried at the Mirpur Intellectuals' Graveyard on December 23. However, the time has not been decided yet.

Meanwhile, Hasan Arif's third namaz-e-janaza was held at the Secretariat premises at 12 noon. His second namaz-e-janaza was held at the Supreme Court's Inner Garden at 11 am.

Earlier, on Friday, the first namaz-e-janaza was held at Baitul Aman Mosque, Dhanmondi No. 7, in the capital after Isha. It was attended by Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus and important state figures. AF Hasan Arif breathed his last at Lab Aid Hospital in the capital at 3:10 pm today.

Hasan Arif was in charge of the Ministry of Lands and the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism as an adviser to the interim government. He also served as the adviser to the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs of the then interim government from January 2008 to January 2009. He served as the Attorney General of Bangladesh from October 2001 to April 2005.

AF Hasan Arif was born on July 10, 1941 in Kolkata. He started his professional career as a lawyer in the Kolkata High Court in 1967. He was enrolled as an advocate of the then East Pakistan High Court in 1970 and has been practicing law as an advocate of the country's highest court continuously since then.

Taking doctors' commissions from pharmaceutical companies is not only unethical, it is also illegal, said National Professor Dr. AK Azad Khan, head of the Health Sector Reforms Commission.

He made this comment at a stakeholder meeting organized on the health sector in Chattogram at the Chattogram Medical College Auditorium on Saturday (December 21) morning.

National Professor Dr. AK Azad Khan said, it is unethical and illegal. Taking commissions from doctors is not only immoral, but also illegal. The matter will be mentioned in our commission's report.

At the meeting, the stakeholders discussed various problems and solutions in the health sector in Chattogram. They urged to improve healthcare from the marginal level to the district-upazila level. Proposals to control unqualified private diagnostic centers, eliminate inter-cadre discrimination in the medical sector and resolve the crisis between government and private hospitals emerged.

The speakers emphasized on increasing the budget allocation for the medical sector and improving the quality of medical education to improve the country's healthcare system.

The meeting was attended by Health Sector Reform Commission member Dr. Abu Mohammad Zakir Hossain, Professor Dr. Saeba Akhter, Professor Dr. Mozaherul Haque, Professor Dr. Azharul Islam Khan, Professor Dr. Syed Md. Akram Hossain, Umair Afif and others.
