The results of HSC and equivalent exams will be published on October 15.

Tapan Kumar Sarkar, Chairman of Dhaka Education Board and President of Inter-Education Board Coordinating Committee, an organization of chairmen of education boards, gave this information on Monday (October 7).

Based on SSC or equivalent exam marks (subject mapping) this time HSC or equivalent exam result. In this regard, the President of Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee, Tapan Kumar Sarkar, said that the results of the exam will be evaluated and the answer sheets will be published. And for the subjects which have not been examined, the results will be published on the basis of SSC or equivalent examination results by subject mapping.

There is a policy for topic mapping. In this process the marks obtained by a candidate in a subject in SSC, if that subject is in HSC, the entire marks obtained in SSC will be taken into consideration. And if there is a difference in subjects in SSC and HSC and equivalent examinations, the result will be published considering the marks as per subject mapping policy.

The education department was forced to cancel this year's HSC or equivalent exams when the candidates protested and surrounded the secretariat after entering the secretariat last August.

This time the HSC or equivalent examination started on June 30. The total number of candidates is about 14.5 lakh. After the seven examinations, the movement to reform the quota system in government jobs spread. In this situation, the examination was postponed several times. Six subject exams were left till then. Apart from this, the practical exam is also left. At one point, the quota reform movement took the form of a round of government collapse. Sheikh Hasina's government fell on August 5 in a student uprising. Later it was decided that the exam will be conducted in the new schedule from August 11. It didn't happen though.

According to education board sources, police stations in various areas were attacked on the day of the ouster of the Awami League government. The question paper trunk kept in the police station was damaged. In this situation, instead of August 11, it was decided to hold the postponed exams from September 11. But many of the candidates joined the movement. They claimed that due to the prevailing circumstances, the fact that the examination has been suspended for an indefinite period has put them under stress. So the remaining tests have to be cancelled. At one stage the postponed exams were canceled in the face of agitation.
