Appointment of 23 new judges in the High Court Division

Dhaka: The President Md. Sahabuddin has appointed 23 people as judges in the High Court Division of the Supreme Court.

On Tuesday (October 8), a notification was issued by the Ministry of Law appointing them as per the order of the President.

According to the notification, the President has appointed additional judges of the High Court Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh for a maximum period of two years from the date of taking the oath to the 23 persons mentioned in the order (a)-(b) below by virtue of Article 98 of the Constitution of the People's Republic of Bangladesh.

The appointees are - Md. Golam Mortuza Majumdar, Syed Enayet Hossain, Md. Mansoor Alam, Syed Zaheed Mansoor, KM Rasheduzzaman Raja, Md. Jabid Hossain, Mubina Asaf, Kazi Waliul Islam, Ainun Nahar Siddika, Md. Abdul Mannan, Tamanna Rahman, Md. Shafiul Alam Mahmud, Md. Hamidur Rahman, Nasreen Akhtar, Sathika Hossain, Syed Mohammad Tajrul Hossain, Md. Tawfiq Inam, Yusuf Abdullah Sumon, Sheikh Tahsin Ali, Faiz Ahmed, Md. Sagir Hossain, Shikder Mahmudur Razi and Debashish Roy Chowdhury.

This appointment will be effective from the date of taking oath.

Moazzem Hossain, Special Officer of the High Court Division, said that Chief Justice Syed Refat Ahmed will administer the oath to the appointed judges at 11 o'clock on Wednesday (October 9) at Judges Lounge.
